Community and social welfare activities have always been given priority by the Dawood Hercules Group, generously participating in a multitude of social welfare activities. The Dawood family formed the Dawood Foundation in 1961, one of the largest public charitable trusts in the country today. The foundation has contributed substantial funds for establishing schools, college, hospitals and dispensaries.
One of the key projects being supported by the Dawood Foundation is the state of the art city campus of the Karachi School for Business & Leadership (KSBL). KSBL is a graduate management school established in Karachi in strategic collaboration with University of Cambridge, Judge Business School. KSBL offers world-class cutting edge MBA (starting Sep 2012) and Executive Education (commenced May 2010) programmes, with a focus on ethical leadership and social responsibility, to the many talented young men and women in the country as well as international students and corporate executives.
The famous Dawood College Engineering & Technology Karachi was established by the Dawood Foundation in 1962 (nationalized in 1971) and the Dawood Public School in Karachi, the Skardu School of Science and Humanities are just some of the projects undertaken by this Foundation. The Foundation also awards scholarships to talented and deserving students for higher studies. The Dawood Foundation also donates regularly to Al-Shifa Trust Eye Hospital Islamabad, which is one of the leading charitable eye hospitals in the country.
